Cost of hiring a painter for a small bathroom?

Just wondering in what price range it would cost to hire a painter to paint a guest bathroom in my house. I bought the paint already (Valspar), however, I do not have any tools to paint with. Also, I would need a painter/handyman to install minor stuff, like a new sink and towel bar.

  1. Go with a handyman who can do everything for you. Small paint jobs like bathrooms, etc., are usually by the job, not an hourly rate. If he is already there for the painting, he won't charge much more for the other things. I resently had a small kitchen ceiling painted, it took him under 2 hrs./ I had paint, he charged me $75.
  2. $300, probably better off painting it yourself
  3. It depends on a lot of things like how large is the room. How many windows and doors. Does it need to primed before? Are the walls clean? How much needs to be patched? Some painters only like to purchase their own paint. How many coats need to be applied? How many diffrent colors are there going to be? Are the ceilings being painted? You need to have a couple people come in and give you bids. I paint for a living and I would never just give someone an estimate without looking at it myself even if you could answer all these things for me. Each job is so completely different.
  4. It's around $400.00.
  5. first problem you got valspar paint from lowes (sux) we have a 400.00 day rate and we do home repairs.yours without looking i would guesstimate day job-sink, towelbar,2 coats of paint cause it is valspar 1 coat doesnt even cover same color.good luck
