I need help with a color for a small bathroom?

We have a very TINY bathroom with cream colored tiles on floor and up half the wall. The other half of the wall is white and our cabinets are white, I'm getting very bored with the lack of color, but I think it will make the space look smaller if I put another color, any suggestions on a color other than white?

  1. keep to pastel colours and you cant go wrong - just whatever you do - dont go dark!
  2. add some light orange or some orange or a kind of light gray it would look nice
  3. yellow with white trim
  4. wood or earth coler
  5. Have fun and be creative! Dark colors in small spaces can actually make the space look larger, just don't put a dark color on the ceiling. Find a piece of fabric or art that you love and let that be your inspiration. If you go to Behr.com you can mess around with paint colors and even upload your own photo. Good luck!
  6. yes pastels, but don't be afraid to experiment. After all its only paint. Have you considered a border? it may be enough to jazz things up.
  7. blue
  8. all I can say is light colors, basically. They make spaces seem bigger, whilst dark one's only do the opposite. Good luck with it, whatever you decide!
  9. pastels are great not just for making the room look big but they are good for relaxation. a seafoam light blue/white are highly suggested in my opinion for your walls. for the cabinets, either white or mint green. bye!
  10. Black (yes, its dark) with a lot of white would actually look very stylish plus make the bathroom look larger..perhaps black tiles on the floor and white tiles on the wall with a black border around...would look pretty futuristic
  11. Paint it light brown with dark green spots and dark brown lines then you can match your sh!t.
  12. Darker colors close the space. Keep it light, and if you just want some mild sprucing, I've seen alot lately of doing a solid horizontal approx 2-3 feet in height stripe around the middle of the room, it brings pop but doesn't color the WHOLE room.
  13. i think light blue or dont cnange the floor colour just cannge other to light blue
  14. yes i have the suggestion that blue colour would be best because bathroom have showers and taps and ofcourse water is of blue colour so it would be better to choose. and to make it more attractive u can also have some shading in the blue colour................. byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. I would suggest yellow,or teal blue they snap with white and create an open feeling.
  16. no dark colors, just light ones
  17. I agree with classy- dark colors will make your tiny room feel even smaller. Stick with pastels, or softer versions of the colors you want to use. Warm colors will also visually shrink the space... red, orange, yellow, pink... Cool colors will visually expand the space... blue, purple, green.... Also, consider neutrals- browns, grays. Black and white are also considered neutral, but I don't think that strong of contrast will improve anything. Green is the warmest of the cool colors, so it can be a nice "semi-neutral." One thing to remember- When you get out of the shower, it's always kinda chilly. Warm colors will "feel" warmer, cool colors will "feel" cooler.... just a thought. Keep the floor and ceiling white/off-white- those two areas seem to have a HUGE impact on the feel of a room. I repainted a bathroom once. It was in a trailer, so all the walls were wood paneling... I painted the wall that was empty (no toilet, sink, tub) an off-white. It made the room feel about 2x bigger!... I actually ended up painting a LOT in that trailer! All that paneling was just... Ugh!
  18. Try putting material up on one wall. Use spray starch to put it up with. If you don't like it,just pull it off.My bathroom is even smaller. But if I don't like whats on the wall, I just pull it off and put another color up. No hassles.
  19. pink is good - same as mine
  20. We have a smaller guest bathroom and painted it a dark brown. Everyone who sees it just loves it. Try going to roomvues.com and look through some paint color photos there for ideas. You can also upload a photo of your bathroom in their makeover gallery and get professional color advice for free. I know lots of people who have and swear by it. Best of luck.
  21. Light Blue on the walls. Find a designer rug with many colors for the floors. Play the rug up with a small picture with the same colors
  22. I think blue is a really nice color in bathrooms. It's soothing, while at the same time it will go with just about any color towels/decor you decide to put in it.
  23. How about a light, creamy yellow - like "hubbard squash" by sherwin williams. check it out: http://sherlink.sherwin.com/swapp/color_visualizer/index.jsp
  24. Just saw a great article specifically on this subject. Go to www.roomvues.com and click on the Expert Advice tab. I think it was color consultant Denise Turner who wrote the article today. Hope this helps.
