My husband and I are going to remodel the bathrooms and then sell the house...what color cabinets?
We prefer darker colored woods, but I don't know if that is a good color to get for the vanity if we are going to sell....what color do most of you prefer in a bathroom as far as cabinets and vanities go? We will do tile floors - grey scales. Thanks for the opinions!

- I personally pefer either like lighter wood colors, or white.
- i think the darker color wood is good because then it will not get dirty so easy. and white looks cheap. so if i was going to buy i would prefer medium to dark wood. good luck!
- If it is a small bath, lighter color will make the space appear larger. Dark wood would be "cozy" though.
- saffron colour, just like the Hindu priest are dressed
- Choose white.
- I don't think dark colors are very popular - especially if the room/house does not get a lot of light. You're probably better off going with white or beige, or another bright/light colors.
- Using grey scale tiles on the floor naturally assumes a cool color. Depending on which shade of grey you are using, I would go with a soft blue or green (if you must paint). If you plan on using wood colors though, try a nice mahogany color. It's a dark wood, and it may go well with the grey.
- ask a realtor what color would be most appealing. I think a bathroom should be bright but comfortable. Honestly I would go with lighter neutral colors like a light oak unless you have alot of window and sunlight. I have white cabinets in my bathroom that the previous owner installed just before putting the house on the market and prefer it to the dark brown bathroom I grew up with but white is hard to keep clean. We have a tiny window in our tiny bathroom with limited sunlight so the white made a huge difference. If you are planning to sell then remodel with what you think would appeal to a larger crowd rather than your own style. Remember that the bathroom can make a huge difference in home price. Good luck
- Medium oak shades are the most basic and closer to 'neutral'. Whatever shade you pick, keep same color if have wooden frame around mirror, if baseboards are wood, or any other wooden item in bathroom.
- I would go with white, white is very popular in bathrooms because it represents "clean" and "pure"....two things people want when they are relaxing in the tub or getting ready for a long day! It is also classic, and fits a lot of tastes and styles.
- for the master suite bath, id use a very dark wood-an espresso finish, maybe with a vessel sink. for the main bath, id use a lighter color like oak, or maybe even painted white.
- Go visit some newer homes in your area that are for sale-- like the open houses on Sunday or Saturday. See what is popular in houses on the market and mimic that.
