What makes a modern house japanese? asides form the genkan, the japanese style room and their unique bathroom, what else is preserved from a traditional house?

I live in a Japanese house in Japan (military) and our house has: wood floors, sliding doors to most of the rooms, this paper stuff on a wooden frame on the windows, heated toilet seats, a little entry way when you first walk in the house with a tall shoe closet to put your shoes since you do not wear them in the house.
