can i make my own glass bathroom sink? u know those modern bowls?
i like those modern looking glass bowls with holes in the bottom for the bathroom sink drains. I figured u could buy a nice glass bowl and have someone drill out the bottom of it. But, i don't know who does this kind of work or what kind of tool i could use to do this myself? thank you

- Check with you local glass company. Sounds like a serious project.
- It's really not as easily done as it sounds. A sink has to be water tight, and the drain piece has to fit properly and the sink has to sit perfectly onto the counter top. Ideally there should be not only the hole in the bottom of the sink as a drain, but also a slightly recessed circle around the drain hole that allows for the drain assembly pieces - there is a flange-like piece that is either around the pop-up part or where you could put a stopper. I'm sorry I don't remember the technical terminologies of all these parts. Also, the glass sinks are tempered glass, and I am not sure where you find a tempered glass bowl. This is really something to consider, because you don't need shards of glass flying if you accidentally drop a hairbrush or something onto it. Good luck.
- that would be tricky. the glass sinks are very thick and i dont think you could buy one at any store plus they are heat treated after the hole was drilled, for strength. you can drill in some bowls but not tempered or heat treated the holes are drilled prior. any glass shop should have drill bits if you want to try, let them drill it. very tedious work plus bits are very expensive
- Why would you do that, when there are so many to choose from? Besides the sinks they sell are tempered, yours would not be. More likely to break.
