Is there any body else out there who has grown tired of home makeover shows ?
what really gets on my nerves is usually some over camp interior designer going into a bathroom and having a fit of the vapours cos the house has an advacado bathroom suite conviently forgetting a similar person was saying ten years ago that a green bathroom [advacado] in designer speak was the thing 2 have, So rip out all that white stuff and replace it with advacado So if u must rip out your advacado suite keep it in storage .For a few years then you can re- use it so therefore saving money ! .Or better still stop making make over shows PLEASE !

- lol I agree, and I don't like any of the "reality" shows either who watches that crap? really :):)
- what are you talking about? i think someone has way too much time on there hands... and anyway if you have a problem with them then dont watch them
- Yes because some of the designers have horrible taste. Plus How about redoing the whole United States or the world or even the makeover shows when they redo people faces or hair that just ugh!!!!!
- Surely there are enough channels for you to avoid that tat? I seem to be able to. Of course the worst thing is how easy they make it seem to do all kinds of stupid stuff to your house. There is no substitute for quality, and that means employing a professional. Allegedly
- I agree too!
- ABSOLUTELY, I agree wholeheartedly
- I have to admit to not liking that loud, obnoxious American woman invading UK homes and telling the owners how they should present them for sale (can't remember her name or what the programme's called). Her taste is abysmal, you can guarantee at the end of her makeovers she's used the same bland colours and style(?) and turned the homes into little boxes. Personally I'd prefer to view one house with at least a little character than a dozen all with the same candles, prints and lack of feeling. Pleased to have found my off button!
- Hell, I like those shows. They give some good ideas every now and then. I agree, there are some shows that just suck, but even some of those are fun to look at. They tell you what not to do, and they're good for a laugh. Watch something else, if you're going to cry about it. Have a good night.
- Yes and no. As a home improvement professional it is quite decieving what most of the "shows" show you and leave out however business is good cleaning up the mistakes!
- I think on Changing spaces the designers insult our intelligence by designing crappy rooms and trying to make us think it is great.Feathers on the wall puleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeee
- Yes. I have (and so has my whole family) for quite some time. I think the first programme was interesting, but after that they just kept repeating the same patterns and it became boring pretty quickly. I find most TV over the past 10 years unattractive. The medium is declining fast and might disappear completely within another 20-50 years. The reason for the low standards of current TV is in the massive increase of channels. When there were only a few channels, the natural selection and competition brought good programmes to be shown. Now that we have unlimited channels, every rubbish is broadcasted and it is frankly disgusting.
- OH OH OH OH YESS! HATE them!! Hate ALL that type shows--cooking- dancing with the dog!! Just can NOT and DO NOT WATCH THEM!!! GAG!!
- I hate makeover shows as well and cookery shows come a close second. There are way too many of them.
- I agree, they are a bit passe now. But I do think it has made people a bit more conscious of home design.....and that's a good thing (unless they make themselves bankrupt doing it) I especially notice the improvement in people's front gardens (I am so nosy) Also its great if it has encouraged people to be more creative. But I don't watch these programmes and more as I have Home Makeover Fatigue and Makeover Overload.
