Does anyone require the talents of an artist?
I paint, draw, and do photography. I can do logo design, interior design, fashion design, or simply make you a nice picture to hang in your living room ,but since I'm just starting out I'm not sure how to get myself recognized in this field.

- When I need something done I look in the local art galleries - also the local coffee shops hang art work. If I see glass work or art that I like, I contact the artist (their card is always with the work for that reason) and commission a piece. The thick is to get your work out where the public will see it.
- if you could do all of that you wouldn't be just starting out. It helps to know people though to get recognized, and jump on every opportunity that comes your way, you also have to reach out and show others what you can do, save money, contact local galleries and get your work exhibited. Apply for jobs the may require an artist...etc.
- If you can paint and draw you can offer your services on http://ebay.com and http://craigslist.org Post an ad with samples of portraits. Show the actual photo and then show the art for it. Start of at a reasonable rate. I would suggest about $20-$40 until you build a bigger portfolio. I charge $50 for portraits 9 x 12 in regular pencil and colored pencil. I believe that's pretty cheap. But I charge that cheap because I can do it in under 3 hours easy. For paintings I charge more. Also there are website galleries where you can display and sell you work. Try http://www.deviantart.com and http://www.etsy.com/index.php You should also make your own free website gallery like maybe on http://www.geocities.com If it's comic art you like to draw then you can submit you artwork on http://www.comicartcommunity.com and http://www.comicartfans.com/
