How to create a fabric draped ceiling?

In the show Terra Nova, the ceilings in the housing units are draped with beautiful white fabric. I want to be able to get that look in my bedroom. Though i would probably use a different color than white, maybe. I want to know ways to hang the fabric up. I dont want to do anything tacky like nails or thumb tacks. I want something creative that will look good, and also where I can hide it so nobody sees how it is hanging. Here is a picture of Terra Nova's ceiling. 1. You could hang dowels on hooks attached to the ceiling. When you hang the fabric, put it all the way to the edge and the drape of it will hide the dowels and the hooks.
