Why won't my Toshiba laptop start?

Well, Yesterday my laptop was working perfectly fine then I switched off my laptop and then about 30 minutes later I turned it back on suddenly the mouse thing of my laptop didn't work it wouldn't move, I tried clicking on the 2 buttons below the mouse bit but it still didn't work. Then I tried touching one of the buttons on the keyboard and they didn't work either however, the on/off button did work. I turned it off and went to sleep. Next morning (today) when I turned it on it says Toshiba Innovation like always then it goes to a black page with at the top right corner it says _ And then it just stays like that and it doesn't make any noise whatsoever. It's really pissing me off and I want my laptop back, I haven't told my parents yet, I bet they're going to be so angry cause it was a new laptop as well, I just got it for my birthday. I hope you can help me Thank you very very very much! When i restart it and tap the F8 button it still doesn't work as I think the keyboard isn't working as well A dumb question but how do I remove the battery and where is it?

1. Restart and keep pressing f8 to windows advance boot screen,scroll to the last known good config that really work,click it or reset the hdd and swap the ram around
2. it probably crashed you will either have to reinstall the OS or use Linux which is better anyway press F2 F1 DEL or ESC one of theses should get u into ur BIOS and/or Boot Menu if u can access one of them u know the keyboard is fine make sure u have no CD in the drive as that makes it sit at a blank screen
3. did something spill on it? plugged in remove the battery, CD/DVD and any USB connected and try starting again. If you have a cover plate over the memory slot you can check the memory for properly seated connected. if you just got it it should be under warranty so don't worry to much and call them.
