Looking to install a garage door connecting kitchen to deck. Anyone know how to search for these?

I recently saw an episode on HGTV of a house that had a garage door on the second floor connecting a living space to a balcony. I would like to do the similar thing in my place but finding information on this is proving to be difficult. Does anyone know where I can look? Also, what type of issues should I keep in mind on this project?

  1. A place that sells garage doors.
  2. Steve, on HGTV, they tend to do a lot of prep work behind the scenes. So, come to expect involving various contractor trades: Electrical, interior wall/drywall and carpentry, to say the least. (I say electrical because sometimes electrical wires are in the way, and they need to be moved.) Perhaps your best move would be to seek the assistance and advice of a local remodeling contractor, who could provide you with the best possible local advice. (Plus, note that it is usually cheaper to go with one contractor who handles multiple trades as opposed to hiring a separate contractor for each trade involved.) So, here's a great link to a handyman site that offers free very resourceful information to assist you in your project, and, ultimately, selecting a local remodeling contractor: REMODELING CONTRACTOR INFO: http://yourhandymanzone.com/Your_Handyman_Zone_Free_Estimates_Remodeling_In_Gen.htm I'm sure you'll find the information, specifically the tips, useful. . Source(s): The Internet. Just whatever is available online and what I have on my mind, including the inclusion of relevant sites, like the one cited above that came about from my efforts, which is intended to be useful. Helping people get the relevant info they want is great.
  3. You might me better off to us a rolling steel or fiberglass door. I would need to know the area you live in to give you insulated or non insulated types. Some installations combine sliding glass doors along with a roll up door for security.
