Why bathtubs are so common and necessary in Australian bathrooms?

It is not something that is really used that often. Actually I believe very few people use it but virtually all bathrooms in Australia have a bathtub. Its almost like having a swimming pool and never using. Sorry I have rarely used. Don't enjoy and don't really know anyone that uses it that often that i know.

1. No women in OZ? That all women do in my country, sit in the bathtub with a glass of wine.
2. Without a bath, a bathroom would just be a room. And you'd have to go about asking to use someone's 'room'. It just wouldn't make any sense, so I think it's all for the name.
3. It's nice those times you can use it, so it's nice to think you have that option. Everyone would use it at some stage. Also, they are so ubiquitous a buyer would think there was something wrong with a house without one.
