  1. Try and keep color to neutral side one cuz it will make ur bathroomlook bigger and two u may changeur colors on the wall down the road. But slate is a very durable substance and comes in many dif colors.
  2. I like the idea of medium to dark gray tiles (I suggest ceramic that looks like natural stone) but I would do dark gray grout, the closest you can come to the overall tile color. Using the same color grout will eliminate glaring lines that chop up the space. I would also lay them on the diagonal - it helps to visually expand the space. Also the larger the tile the better...just make sure you have a skilled installer. As for the wall color, I would go to a grayer blue. Consider Sherwin William's 7065 Argos in an eggshell in their Duration Home line. The ceiling should be 7063 Nebulous White. Having the ceiling 2 shades lighter than the wall color & NOT white will also contribute to expanding the space. I would then do towels & bath mat in blue & the shower curtain in solid white. The swirly pattern of this curtain will soften the lines of the tile while looking fresh: http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/product.asp?SKU=127053&RN=10&
  3. I think your ideas sound great. I have a small bathroom in a very old cottage and we did it with white tiles with a mosaic border in shades of grey, greysh (if you know what I mean), black and off white colours. The floor is black slate but I think your idea sounds better as the silver and blue sounds lovely. The only thing I would say is about the grout on the floor. I had thought of white but the tiler suggested a kink of putty colour as he said white shows the dirt very easily and you are constantly cleaning it. I would go with the dark grey for your colour scheme.
