website design help.screen design?

i am designing a website i am trying to come up for the screen design.(i'm a beginner).but i am not very creative and is first time designing a website.what guidelines can i follow in coming up with an idea.those experienced web designers , can you tell me how you come up with an idea for your screen design.what things do i have to take not of i am quite stressed by designing a website and is not creative but i have interest in web designing but no talent.
