How would you design your dream kitchen?

We are going to have our kitchen redone. The kitchen is always busy in my house, I love to cook as does my daughter, my husband likes to eat. I can't decide what I want, so I thought it might be nice to hear what other people's dream kitchen is so I can get some ideas.

2. It would have a big island in the middle that would have a hole in the counter top for compost. This is so when chopping vegetables I can just scrape the scraps off into the hole for composting. A utility sink would be handy to have off to the side in a pantry. Shelves for large jars of bulk dried beans and grains would be good for organization. Ideally, my dream kitchen would have a lot of storage and space and good organization, but that isn't exactly something that can be upgraded without moving or tearing down a wall. I used to have a kitchen large enough to have a couch, and that was great for when guests were over or people were hanging out, or I just wanted to read a cookbook while I waited for water to boil. I would also fill the kitchen with live plants. Edible ones, if possible.
3. Granite countertops Glass tiled backsplash in grey & white (saw some beauties at Home depot) stainless steel appliances Glass or opaque cupboard doors Plantation shutters? Hardwood floors?
