Dear Homes Abroad. I'm currently living in London and have my whole life. My family and I are moving to somewhere in the West of California (near the coast). I'm writing to you today to ask for help to find a new house to live in. At the moment I live in a five bedroom house, with two living rooms, a big kitchen and two bathrooms; it is a beautiful house however we have to move because of my Dad's work. Something we are looking for is a house that has the same amount of rooms as my current one and ideally even more and because California is a hot country, a swimming pool with a big garden would be ideal! My family and I would love an area that has welcoming and friendly people where the crime-rate is low. Because of my dad's work, it needs to be nearer the sea as he is a surfing teacher and is setting up his own teaching company. It would also be good if there was a local school in the area... It's not just me who would need schooling, it's my three other sibling too! When I went on holiday there last summer I loved it there and I'm really looking forward to moving there because the weather is beautiful, not always raining like here in London! Another reason is that the people in California seem a lot nicer and more friendly than the people in London do. After moving, of course I will miss all my friends and family, however I think it a great opportunity to start fresh and make even more friends! Hope to hear from you soon, Lucy.

1. Cher “Homes Abroad” En ce moment, j’habite à Londres, où j’ai passé toute ma vie. Ma famille et moi allons déménager sous peu quelque part dans l'Ouest de la Californie (près de la côte). Je vous écris aujourd'hui pour vous demander de l'aide pour trouver une nouvelle maison où loger. En ce moment j’habite dans une maison de cinq chambres, avec deux salons, une grande cuisine et deux salles de bains, c'est une belle maison mais nous sommes obligés de déménager en raison du travail de papa. Nous recherchons quelque chose que nous recherchons ayant le même nombre pièces que mon habitation actuelle et, idéalement, plus encore plus car la Californie est un pays chaud, une piscine avec un grand jardin serait idéal ! Ma famille et moi aimerions un quartier accueillant avec des gens sympathiques où le taux de criminalité est faible. En raison du travail de mon papa, il faut qu’elle soit assez près de la mer, car il est moniteur de surf et il est en train de fonder sa propre entreprise. Ça serait bien, s’il y avait aussi une école locale dans le quartier… Non seulement moi, mais aussi mes trois autres frères et sœurs ont besoin de fréquenter une école ! Quand j’y suis allé en vacances l'été dernier, j'ai adoré cet endroit et je suis vraiment impatient de m'y installer parce qu’il y fait beau temps, il ne pleut pas toujours pleuvoir comme ici à Londres ! Une autre raison est que les gens en Californie semblent beaucoup plus agréables et plus conviviaux que les gens de Londres. Après le déménagement, tous mes amis et la famille vont me manquer, mais je pense que c'est une excellente occasion de repartir à zéro et se faire encore plus d’amis !
