Does anyone have an IKEA kitchen?
My fiance and I are looking into re-doing our kitchen from IKEA because we love the modern styles and it will save us a lot of money. We're just wondering how difficult it is to plan and install, if anyone has advice or can relate their experiences we would appreciate it! We are planning to do the whole thing from IKEA - counter tops, sinks, hardware, appliances.

- I don't have one now but I used to and will get one again when I renovate here. Not all that difficult to do as long as you're reasonably handy, read and follow instructions, and take your time. Plot it all out on paper(graph paper is handy for this), and you know Ikea has kitchen consultants. Use them. It's part of what you pay for when you buy their kitchens.
- I have one now that I installed myself and definitely prefer it both for ease of construction and quality of product compared to the conventional Home Depot cabinets and counters I put in my last house (also did that myself). Best bang for the buck in kitchens, in my opinion, and easy for a relatively inexperienced homeowner to do and have look professional. The one thing I would caution you on is their faucets -- not up to the quality of Kohler and Delta. After less than two years, the finish on the IKEA faucet has started to corrode and peel around the base -- very disappointing. But the cabinets (Nexus brown), sink (the farmhouse type white porcelain one) and laminate countertop are terrific. Love the range hood, slide in range and gas countertop cooktop, too.
