Where should I apply after graduation to design electric cars?
Hi :) I love alternative energy, as well as the automobile industry. I am getting a degree in Mechanical Engineering, and I would love to design electric cars after I graduate in a few years. I want to actually design them and brainstorm with other engineers to come up with the best solutions to problems, where i can really get creative. What are some good companies to work for? And what position should I apply for? Also, I want to get my masters, but I don't know if I should get it in Mechanical Engineering or Business Administration. Which would benefit me the most? I want to move up in the company and even manage other design engineers. I just need some guidance, and any advice as to what to do to get involved in electric car design, what would look good on my resume, and if mechanical engineering is even the way to go for what I want to do! THANK YOU!!!!!!!!

- Wow, I'm about to graduate high-school (I'm a homeschooler) and am jealous of you. You have a thing going here. Unfortunately I am even less informed than you but can help you on one... When you get a master, get it in mechanical engineering. Just like all the English Majors these days, a further degree in Business Administration will not get you very far. Engineering and computer designing in this very fast moving technology world, is very valuable and companies cannot get enough engineers. :) you should google some companies and usually 90% will offer hiring. So many companies want to stay ahead of the game but only this generation would even consider getting a degree in engineering. So think about it, everybody wants to get ahead of the technology curve, yet nobody has the necessary degrees! Go for it! Good luck and I wish you luck on your life! Soon I will have to make similar decisions like you and I cannot wait for it! :) Kintalia
- Hi there. ''I would love to design electric cars'' Don't waste your time. Electric car technology is well proven , there are no major engineering hurdles to conquer. Electric cars were in fact around for many years before petrol powered cars. You will never see mass produced electric cars due to the politics and profits of oil. Alternative powered vehicle experiments by manufacturers are just a placebo to the greenies., they have no intention what so ever in making non petrol powered cars a reality. You should watch 'Who Killed the Electric Car' , , , then you will understand the reality of the automotive industry and political agenda better.
