How can I open a posh bar/restaurant?
I would love to open a posh little modern restaurant/bar in my local area or the nearest town/city. How would I manage to get a loan from the bank, and the licence to sell alcoholic drinks etc? How would I be able to hire workers and give them salaries? How would I start off the venture and the interior design etc? Any other advice or tips that you have would be appreciated! Also please don't post links. Thanks

- Tip... Dont open one under a tram bridge.
- Well well where to begin really that film club was bloody shocking herd it from the grate vine didn't I ahhh man if you just listen but don't wash you'll be fine I wouldn't worry to much just get a dap of thrush cream and you'll be dabbed young sir
- sounds like u want everyone to do all the work for you! i suggest going and speaking to a bank manager about a loan and ask them about starting a business the rest is irrelevant without the loan so do that 1st google is your friend you want people to answer your questions without links and you dont put where abouts in the world you are looking to do this. u need to really think about what your bar/restaurant will be like, how many people will it seat? will there be a seperate bar and restaurant area? is there somewhere in your area that would make a good location? is there a unit that is not currently being used that would be reasonable size and location? what type of customers are you looking for? if you are looking for families and young people, look for a location near a cinema or somewhere like that. if you want older people, couples/business people, look for locations a bit further out of the main centre. what sort of food will there be? themes? will you serve italian food? british gastro pub food? seafood? the interior design needs to be appropriate for the customers. u have a LOT to think about good luck
- Best advice I could give is to work in a bar/restaurant while you save for your own bar. Working in another restaurant/bar will give you some great experience and teach you some tips for when you are ready to start your own place.
- You will need lots of money and unfortunately will not get a loan from a Bank or anywhere else without security ie: equity in property. The rest is irrelevant until you can find the money.
- To start owning a business you have to put work into it and that means search and find the answers for yourself. How else will you learn and grow into a successful business person if you don't do the hard work for yourself. I suggest you Google, Google and Google. It is your friend. I love it. As far as the bank loan goes it depends on your credit and collateral. I suggest you try your hand at the banks and see where that gets you and you should also work hard and save your hard earned money. Also someone on here suggested you work in a bar. It would be a good experience for you to learn more about the business and if this is a good decision for you to venture in. The rest of the questions you ask you need to learn and gather the experience on your own. When you mess up you'll learn what not to do again.
