Westminster council have banned soup kitchens around the catherdral?

They say soup kitchens are degrading and it encourages people to sleep rough where there are suitable shelters available. What planet are these people on?

Public Comments

  1. Planet Mojo!
  2. I would sleep rough for a year just to spend one night with SuBo
  3. Planet I live in Kensington and Chelsea and wouldn't know hardship if I fell over it. Or so I have been told.
  4. Their demon controllers want to gather people in FEMA camps and other similar camps and treat them the same way they did to the Jews. Their "help" centers are not about feeding people but rather restricting their caloric intake.
  5. Heartless B*stards. Don't they know that the shelters are full and no sane person would want to sleep in the freezing cold all night. perhaps if they spent the money they spend on housing benefit to immigrants renting mansions in the borough they would be able to refurbish some empty properties and turn them into hostels for the homeless. The Cathedral should open the doors and distribute food from inside.
  6. Snotty and snooty indeed. Middle class attitudes , middle class church , no time for them both.
  7. WTF!! I am sure that someone walking past a soup kitchen wouldnt think in a million years 'oh that smells like good soup, you know what I think I am going to sleep rough just so I can get a bowl'. And shouldn't homeless people be able to be near to suitable shelters as that is what they are there for. Perhaps the Westminster council dont like to see homeless people and remind them that life isnt golden for everyone, and if that is the case then they should be doing more to help people get off the streets
  8. You have Euro trash squatting in peoples homes and immigrants getting housing beyond their expectations and still moaning about it while people have to sleep rough,is this still a Christian country, time to stop the nonsense and redress the balance in favour of commonsense.
  9. Hi Tigerlily Our Lord said, "Come unto me all you who are heavy laden and I will give you rest". Our local Sikh Temple shares meals with the homeless. The only criteria is that people shouldn't be drunk or on drugs when they attend the temple. The homeless people ensure this criteria is met. Perhaps the Cathedral is too grand for the needy. It beggars belief. Best wishes.
