Is it Illegal to lock school bathrooms except one for each gender?

Recently at my high school there have been incidents of smoking in the bathrooms. So, as a result the people of authority have locked every bathroom except one for each gender. This causes almost everyone that uses them to wait in line for up to ten minutes between classes [or during classes] and makes them late. Authority figures say this could last until the end of the school year. They've also installed an audio sensor in the girls bathroom Is this legal to do?

1. IDK if its Illegal BUT, THATS SO JACKED UP. Like, really AUDIO SENSORS? Screw your school :(
2. Short answer - NO Long answer - As long as a bathroom for each gender remains open it is allowed, they didn't even have to put toilet paper if they didn't want to Edit:sorry about that
3. It is legal, as they are providing bathrooms. They are allowed to provide audio sensors and closing the bathrooms. It's yours and your schoolmates' responsibilities to use the bathrooms properly and your schoolmates failed to do that. You all must bear the consequences.
4. Sadly the locking of the bathrooms is allowed as long as one for each gender is open at all times, but the audio sensors on the other hand don't sound to legal i would try to look that up on google or maybe talk to a teacher about it.
5. You can call the local health department or "code enforcement" and ask what is the minimum number of toilets required AT ALL TIMES in a school having your number of students and faculty. You school could be closed immediately if they are creating an illegal and imminent health hazard for students.
