how much would it cost to have a new kitchen worktop fitted?

I want a new kitchen worktop fitted and possibly a new sink. Has anyone got any idea just about how much it would cost to get a worktop fitted and/or a sink fitted. Just something a bit more modern because i don't think ours has been replaced since we moved in 9 years ago and if it has... i can't remember having it done (i am 13 but this is for my mam )

1. little mo ..every thing depends on how easy it is to remove the old worktops ...they are normally tiled on top and most times you pull the tiles off when trying to remove the worktop ..and if you break tiles they are not easy to match ...im a builder ..at the base of units there is a plinth ...i remove this ..and in most cases there are adjustable legs ...i lower these to try and get clearance ..then remove screws holding the worktops to the carcases ..need to budget £500
