interior design question (paint color)?
Let's say that I'm painting a rectangular room separated by an arch (living room & dining room)... If I painted the side walls and one of the end walls in a Teracota color and the arch is a pale Plantain color, could I paint the other end in the pale color also just to create a color recall of the arch??? I'm just wondering if it will make the dining room appear smaller... The same drapes will be used in the living room & dinning room. the ceiling and trims are a creamy color already. (that's the 10% of the color) at opposite ends, there is a wall of drapes in the living room and at the other end, just one widow with the same set of drapes and that is the wall that would be lighter...

- Without actually seeing the space, it's really hard to say. Sometimes what you suggest looks fine; sometimes it looks a bit dated. Generally speaking, I'd rather see all four walls in the same color, and then use the Plantain, or a shade thereof, in some other way. Perhaps use a lighter shade of it on the ceiling; ceilings do not HAVE to be white. Or shades of Plantain could be used in other ways: drapes, rugs, or pillows for example.
- i can't visualise from your words where the drapes fit into the arch views - the idea of one colour ahead in one direction and another colour in the opposite direction i like and can't think how that might visually shrink the space.
