Do you prefer traditional or modern design?

I'm a huge fan of modern/contemporary. But I also like a sortof traditional-ish modern design, if that makes any sense. http://www.digsdigs.com/mid-century-modern-home-renovation-with-new-rooms-addition/#more-19834 Kindof like this house. It's really modern, with clean lines and it's very simple. But it has a lot of color and very warm-feeling, haha. So, which do you prefer?

  1. modern with a traditional twist :)
  2. Dig the mid-century modern house. Check into art deco and prairie school architecture.
  3. I think that there is something missing in there which is rugs. :-)
  4. modern but its a cool house anyways!
  5. This room is too much literal & stark, cold mid-century for my personal taste - I prefer traditional with contemporary art & primitive accents. So I'm pretty darn transitional. But I love everything, being a designer, & can interpret whatever anyone wants & LOVE it - I just may not not be able to live wth it myself. Too much of anything, in my mind, is not good. I appreciate it all, but I always remind my clients that they're still living in 2010 & need some relevance to today or else they might as well still have a mullet & communicate through telegragh!!! The more generations you live through, the more you should accumulate in those styles & mix up, cause all those styles will inevitably reflect you. That's why 20 somethings can't see past contemporary - they haven't lived long enough to know of anything else!!! HA!!! Any decor style can be colorful & warm., if that's what you're going for.
  6. I like any design as long as the furniture isn't cluttered. I want to be able to call the space I spend time in a "room" and not a maze.
