There Are Small Flies With Circular Shaped Wings In Both Of My Bathrooms?

What are they, why are they in my bathrooms but nowhere else and how can I get rid of them? We have fruit flies in the kitchen but these aren't fruit flies.

  1. A jigger of wine in a container with some plastic wrap with a hole in it will trap fruit flies and the others. Vinegar and water with a drop of dish soap will drown them. The flies in the bath room sound like drain flies. Some drain cleaner down the drain will kill them there. http://www.pestcontrol-products.com/fly_facts.htm This site is to show the different kinds of flies.
  2. I know what you are talking about. Yes they are usually only in bathrooms. I can't remember what they are called though. I actually thought they were kinda cute when I first saw them. Make sure to clean your bathroom really well from top to bottom. Then pour clorox down the drains every day for a while until you don't see them anymore. Don't leave toothpaste or your toothbrushes out. Get one of those clorox things that you put in the toilet and it cleans each time you flush. That should help. For the fruit flies, honestly I have tried everything and the best thing that works for me is to NOT use any kind of lure or trap. The absolute best thing to do for the fruit flies is to absolutely not leave one single crumb out for one single second. No bread out, no fruit out, no chips out no NOTHING. Clean the crap out of your kitchen. Leave all trash outside (preferable locked up in the garage or something). Clean every little spill, crumb, trash, everything in the entire house. Close all window blinds, curtains, except for one that can easily be opened or reached by hand. Keep your bathroom doors closed during this time as well. The flies will gravitate to that one window during the day. When you see them, knock them down with windex, wipe em up and throw them away. (your window will be super clean lol). You can also especially works well on a breezy day, open your windows for a brief time when you see several trying to get out. Also clean your kitchen drains daily. Hopefully you have found the main source to which has attracted them in the first place. This has absolutely worked for me better than anything. I don't know if it's more common here, but I live in south texas and every dang year I have this problem. My grandfather unfortunately will not listen to me. He has had a fruit fly problem for years because he continuously leaves out some kind of vinegar, banana, wine, beer trap, which is only attracting them. Not too mention they always have tomatoes, bananas, cake or whatever laying around. He's so stubborn!!
