What wonderful innovations could Americans have came up with had it not been for government monopolies?
Take for example roads. The government has a highly vested interest in them some may even say monopoly. If this were not the case roads would have came and gone a long time ago. If they were private, and were poorly maintained or they overcharged they would have went the way of the dinosaur. But no, government owns and operates most all of them so we are stuck with little or no innovation in travel and an addiction to oil!

- Letting the JEWS rob there economy... Burning Blacks for no reason... Fighting Ideologies greater than there's...
- Did you mean to say "United Statesians"?
- I would have real life sexy fembots walking around but government regulation of plutonium has put an end to that dream!
- Yes. Roads and hydro-electric dams are complete government monopolies. The South Eastern United States would have been the wealthiest, most advanced region in the world if the government hadnt stepped in with the TVA and given the entire region electricity and roads during the New Deal. Those government b*stards oppressed the one of the poorest regions on earth by giving them electricity and highways. HOW TERRIBLE! Those under-educated rural farmers would have had flying cars by now.
- Perhaps a grammar check option to use when writing. How about something that would tell you when to write "have come up with," rather than the improper "have came up with." Yes, that would be nice!
- ...I believe the Government should sponsor "hookers" and "whores" and have Community Prostitution Houses where a guy could go and get a good $20.00 piece of tail !
- The car, oil and tire companies bought up the public transport system and dismantled it so people would be forced to use their products. This is one way in which markets limit choice. In fact, the interstate highway system was a government gift to the private companies. It's been know from the start that public transportation is more efficient and must less costly than having everybody driving cars. So, it's private monopoly which gives us "little or no innovation in travel and an addiction to oil!"
- Really? So your argument is that if there were private roads, we would have teleportation capability long ago? Correct me if I am wrong, but didn't the Wright Brothers bring out the flying machines long before the Interstate infrastructure? So I am thinking the argument is rather insane. The original ideal behind the Interstate highway system was to be able to transport weapons and military around the country. When they came out, there was no capability to fly this stuff around. It was for security. And the interstate system is the ONLY system that the government controls. States have state highways. Counties have county highways. Cities have city streets. And (gasp) there are private roads throughout the nation. I don't think your argument is much of anything. It hasn't held back anyone from creating transportation.
