Ugliest Room!! help me!!!?

Im living in an apartment at college. I LOVE interior design and have been addicted to Hgtv since i was about 12. I really want to make my apartment warm and contemporary however... My entire living room has the UGLIEST dark hunter green walls. Painting is not an option. I need help throwing some warm modern color and accessories into the mix!! Im lost at what to do. -Im pretty crafty, so i was thinking about making some sort of HUGE thing for the largest wall in the room. Maybe fabric, or a series of canvas paintings? im just SO lost of where to start. Inspiration please? -Any colors, ideas, accessories, or suggestions welcome!! (remember, im in college... so no $200 dollar throw pillows or vases please!! lol)

1. ive recently discovered the world of wall decals at Target.com or making your own decal by using contact paper. Since I cant paint my room walls and they are a boring white, I used them and they peel off the wall perfect without harm and add touches. My room is also a damask print and to match I used a chandelier decal
2. Paint, how could it not be an option? You can repaint before moving and if it look better the landlord will be grateful. PAint with a cream color or light tan. Then punch it up with accessories in your fav colors. Vases, pillows, art work, etc
