What must be the time delay between green lights on successive blocks to keep the traffic moving continuously?
The stoplights on a street are designed to keep traffice moving at 24 mi/h. The average length of a street block between traffic lights is about 80m.

- It would just be the time it takes to go between lights. How many seconds does it take to go 80m when you're travelling 24mph? 24mph = 10.73m/s So you travel 80m in 7.46 seconds and that is the answer.
