How can people think carpeted bathrooms are a good idea?

- lol. i know exactly what you mean. But people put little rugs by their showers and toilets to prevent the water from seeping through the tiles.
- it's stupid because it gets smelly unless its the kind you can take out and clean. like throw rugs. but even then why don't you just use a towel on the floor right?
- Since bathrooms are a high maintenance room then it's not practical to add items that have to be maintained constantly. Wall to wall carpets are not very practical for that reason. Even though they reduce slipping around on the floor, they'd have to be cleaned to prevent mold, mildew and germ growth. Carpeted bathrooms are only OK if they are removable and easily cleanable, and have some non-slip backing on them.
- Personally, I wouldn't do it simply because if the carpet gets wet (such as your toilet flooding over, or any other means of the carpet getting wet ), the carpet can smell and leave a horrible smell throughout the house.
- Depends where. My sink area is outside the toliet/bath and shower, and is carpeted, works fine.
- if they took a UV light into their bathroom they'd rip it out immediately!
- not a good idea great place for mildew to grow
