interior design?? college?

so im a senior in high school and im looking into college (im taking a yr off of school so its not too late or anything) for my career when im older i want to like design the inside of retail stores and restaurants --like decide where the tables go, what goes on the walls, how the store is set up, and the whole environment of the store/restaurant-- my question is- what would that job title be? and what are some good schools to look into that support what im looking for? ~~ i wanna look at schools in (or around) NYC because i live in connecticut and my whole family is from around here, i wanna go to school far enough away so it feels like im actually way like i would prefer not going to school in connecticut or massachusetts, but i dont wanna be too far where i wouldnt be able to visit my family at all~~ so i just wanna know basically what to be searching for - what job title that would be or like what category that would fall under, and also what it takes to get there thanks :)
