How should I paint a kitchen with yellow kitchen countertops? (pictures)?
We're gonna be moving into this house.. that hasn't been lived in for a long time.. so we're trying to fix it up as much as possible.. little things at time because we're running short of money..lol. The kitchen has these.. yellow countertops things or whatever they are called..and I have nooooo Idea how to paint to match them.. I was thinking of painting the walls white.. and doing the window border thingys and the wall trim..boarders a different color? Would that be weird? Any advice Oh.. and the floor is.. a dark brown color.. Here's what it looks like (sorry.. phone pictures..lol) http://www.flickr.com/photos/49811857@N06/4759718282/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/49811857@N06/4759718266/in/photostream/ Alsoo.. what color should I paint my room? My favorite colors are blues, my ceiling fan is black, it's a small room, and the floors are brown(ick).. I will be getting different floors sometime though. Ohh and my tables and desk and stuff like that are all black and white.

- i would go with a red, or a teal. they r both very modern.
- Those are laminate countertops, with a built in splash guard ( the section that curves upward near the wall ). You can go with almost any light pastel color - go to a home center ( like Lowes or Home Depot ) and get the free color paint chip samples; small pieces of cardboard with different paint colors, then bring them home and scotch tape to the wall to see what color looks best
- After looking at the pictures of your kitchen I've concluded that you should paint the wall like a tan color and for the trim and around the windows I'd do that a white. I think that would look rather nice. For your bedroom I would paint it white and splatter different blues on your wall. Keep the fan black and splatter paint on the blades. For the trim(if you have any) paint blue(if you're feeling edgy splatter white on that) Hope I helped!
- A darker yellow...a gold, or a bright red and write on it with yellow paint...like you could draw bananas in yellow on your bright red walls....the bleeding bananas!!!! lol jk um seriously go with something pretty, maybe a light brown, depending on the shade...who really cares? it's your kitchen! put whatever you want dude!
- For a crisp light look, paint the kitchen a grey color.http://www.myperfectcolor.com/Match-of-RAL-RAL7040-Window-Grey-p/mpc0084317.htm Grey and yellow go so well together. Keep the moldings a bright white and do not add any border except moldings. It begins to look trashy and is so old looking. Your bedroom sounds like a candidate for some color too.Go for the blue.Try a royal blue or a grey/blue .http://www.myperfectcolor.com/Match-of-Glidden-Mb-Royal-Blue-p/mpc0113470.htm http://www.myperfectcolor.com/Match-of-RAL-5024-Pastel-Blue-p/mpc0084254.htm Have fun decorating.
