House remodeling help! Is it okay to have different floor tiles in the bathrooms than in the kitchen?
We have a tile picked out for our entire downstairs- including kitchen, bathroom, living and family room (except 1 bedroom which is wood) and the master bathroom upstairs, but my daughters don't think that the tile will match with what they want to be a contemporary bathroom. Is it okay that one bathroom in the house is a different tile? And how about cabinets? Is it all right that the kitchen has one color cabinets (say a coffee color) and the bathrooms are all a darker color? Thank you!

- Yes, yes and yes, the bathroom should have a different tile, it won't look like a tract house. The tile is usually smaller in a smaller room anyway, bigger in the bigger areas. Just separate them with a marble threshold under the door, the cabinets are the same way, a different vanity is fine, again, tract houses are all the same. And finally yes, where do you live, I would be happy to bid on the job, we are kinda slow down here.
- Sure it's okay. You don't have to match the bathroom to the kitchen. Each room can have it's own color scheme and theme. I think it would be rather boring to look at the same cabinets and tiles in every room. The only time different rooms have to match is if it is an open concept. And I am sure that your bathroom is not open.
- It's your home and your money. Do what YOU want.
- Why don't you have concrete flooring in your home!!! They are less expensive and easy to maintain. Also they can be installed in customized colors and designs!!! so you can pour in your creativity to make your floors look good!!! for more information log on to http://www.xtremepolishingsystems.com/
