Agree or disagree? New instant cameras should be made to look more sleek and like the digital cameras.?

I have a love for instant cameras but the new designs of them disgusts me truly. It looks like they've been designed to be a child's play-toy rather than an actual camera, they are so rounded/curved and especially with the plastic, and thus it's colors are just horrific because of the plastic. Now this is just my opinion on this, but I think Fujifilm and hopefully Polaroid (supposing they're going to make other models after the 300) would make smarter looking and less like a child's toy, instant cameras like the digital ones or maybe even base their cameras looking slightly more like the old (antique-like) ones to preserve it's history, well, The Impossible Project is doing what I'm kind of saying right now, but I guess, it should have a bit of a modern feel to it and also to make it slightly less bulky or maybe less noticeable as an instant camera like the ΠρoCam from The Impossible Project. So do you agree or disagree with the fact some new instant cameras (except for The Impossible Project) just looks like a child's play-toy and need to kick it up a notch? i mention the impossible project as they sell instant cameras and don't actually make them, but i do hope more of those same instant cameras and film is made! or obtain rights from Polaroid which allows them or others to make the same thing

  1. Instant cameras have no practical market. Gurneys have a use, instant cameras do not. What they do fill is the novelty market. You are buying into a lifestyle. The cameras tells everyone that you now qualify as ____, because you wear the camera like a badge. The more they differentiate the camera from others and make it as similar to the old ones as possible the better. However they have to make it ever so slightly better. if it were my project I would not be happy until the kids on the playground say "you're just an old Polaroid idiot, I've got the new ones." If I'm not mistaken The Impossible Project did buy everything from Polaroid but the machines were sold and throwout too fast, so they have to re invent it. I also hear the chemicals will be updated which also means the pictures will be diffrent. For a marketer this would be a tricky project. So much is floating around and you need to get it all together and in the hole, or otherwise no on buys it.
