Why do chicks take pictures of themselves in bathrooms?

Why are so many self-pictures of young women are taken in a restroom of some kind? Then they post it to Myspace or Facebook because they think they look cute. Doesn't matter if there's a toilet in the background, or a paper towel dispenser. I guess it's because of the mirror so they can see the pose they're striking? They look ridiculous.
