What innovations have been recently introduced which may threaten our concept of privacy?

for example: facebook google earth tracking(people track stuff like credit cards or mykis to obtain information about whereabouts. good or bad?) (sometimes there are even tracking devices implanted in clothes so companies can find out what kind of places consumers go to - so they can set up shops in places?) this is for an essay thanks :)

  1. You can be tracked by the cell phone company if your cell phone is just on. US airports are now installing special scanning machines that electronically "undress" a person. Discount store cards (example: Stop & Shop) track your purchases even if you pay in cash. Eventually money as we know it will be used only on rare occasions and everything we buy will be tracked. I'm not positive as to how much information is given to companies regarding the US Census forms we fill out every 10 years. It may just be statistical data. When you work for a big company the company itself often pays the medical bills, and they often use a health insurance company as a "front". This saves the company money. In doing this the company has direct access to your medical records. They say that management isn't allowed access to the information but do you believe that?, ... Any manager determining raises and promotions would be influenced by that information.
