What color should I paint my apartment?

Hey guys. I want to paint my apartment walls which are right now a dark smoky navy blue(which I like). I feel like i need a change. I've studied psychology as one of my majors in college so i know that blue is a turn off because its cold, red builds up your appetite for you(just check out all the logos of McDonalds and Burger King and KFC and Nestle and etc...) and brown, which is what i really want, makes you feel like you should leave(dont know why). Even though I'd like brown.. i cant bring myself to paint my walls brown. The problem is, I dont want my walls to be white, black, gray, teal, blue, brown, red, purple, beige, green, off white or any other color like that. Gray and white are totally out of the question. I want a dark color. My apartments small but dark colors feel cosy ..not too dark of course. Blue is too cold and I'd need to find a great tone of it but I'm going to paint it myself so i cant mix stuff or pay someone.. a slightly dark beige sounds like the best idea because its nowhere near green or blue and its a natural tone.. tell me what you think. If you have knowledge on interior design, please feel free to give me your opinion. a BIG thank you to all you who answer:)

1. What about a warm orange color? Then add some orange and olive green decorations.
2. I think you should either go for a light green or medium green (not dark) or a light pink / salmon color. If you really wanted to get creative you could paint 3 of the walls the lighter color, and the 4th wall one shade darker of the same color to give your room depth.
