What are some new innovations that employers are using to find job candidates?

- online resume submittals are all the rage nowadays
- Actually right now a lot of employers are taking a step backwards to help them deal with the flood of applicants. It's quite common now to see employers requiring print materials be mailed in rather than submitted online. That weeds out applicants who apply for positions just because it's easy and helps to ensure a more qualified talent pool. It also has the tendency to reduce the number of recent graduates who apply for a position and results in a generally older applicant pool with a higher average degree of real world work experience.
- Personally I am seeing more employers posting jobs online but then requesting that resumes either be faxed or snail mailed to them rather than submitting online anymore. Locally too, Ive noticed that employers are posting jobs in the paper and requesting no phone calls but to come directly to the location to apply in person. I think with the huge influx of so many people looking for A job and applying for ANY job whether they are under or over qualified has been more than overwhelming for those who are at the receiving end of online submitters so perhaps more employers are going back to the old school way of posting jobs and requesting a less invasive procedure for applicants
