  1. my brother is blind and when he wanted to learn how to do stuff on his own this lady "enhanced" our kitchen. -For the measuring cups she bought bump it paint which is just a small bottle of paint that dries up fast after you place a dot. ex. for the one fourth cup she put four dots and for a half cup she put two dots. -The microwave was the same way. Each minute has a little dot and every five minute has a bigger dot. -For the stove she got bubble stickers. They are different shapes and sizes so he can tell the difference between the controls. She just placed a shape on the controls and he memorized the shapes. -The recipes are easy. All you need to do is type it on a brailler. -For the spices they have this hand held labeler where you turn the dial to to the letter you want and squeeze the handle to put it on the sticker. When you are done typing you turn the dial to "cut" and squeeze the handle and it cuts it. Then all you do is peel off the back and put it where you want it. I hope I helped. Its amazing what people come up with to make people lives easier. My brother does not give up on anything. He runs track in school, he plays the wii, he rides a bike (and not a two seater!) , he plays air hockey, he is just amazing. It would take me a year to tell you all the things he can do that he thought he would never do again.
