DK Dayton BMX Upgrades?

I just got a 2008 DK Dayton complete BMX and wanted to start looking into upgrades to get it lighter/better in general. Any recommendations on where to get started?   1. ride it until something breaks, then you can blame the bike for sucking, and not just yourself. yourself, that's the best thing to improve on first.
