What are some major innovations in technology that were not from the United States?

I have a project coming up and I was originally going to do the circuit board. Though it is an innovation that was not from the United States I am having a hard time finding primary source documents on it. That is something that needs to be easy to come by, at least three primary source documents that give a good amount of information on the subject. I am looking for anything that has to do with computer science or engineering.
