Which fighter aircraft is better? JF-17 or F-16?
Hello, my name is Piraveen. When I ask this question, it is only for enthusiasm, as I am an aircraft enthusiast. Do not post any hate comments, whether China, India, U.S.A. or Pakistan is better and criticize other countries. It is absolute insulting and will not be tolerated. The JF-17 is designed to be exported to developing nations seeking for an inexpensive light-weight multi-role fighter to replace obsolete aircraft. The F-16 is high performance low-cost multi-role fighter that can dogfight, has limited air superiority, and ground attack capabilities. I have noticed that the JF-17 is being compared with the F-16 (any variants). My questions is, based on tests, performance, observation, and statistics, which aircraft is better? JF-17 or F-16 (any variants)? Why? Thank you!

- im pretty sure its the F-16, I might be wrong though :/
- Based on specs only, I'd have to go with the F-16. Faster, better thrust-to-weight, more payload, more hardpoints, higher ceiling. http://www.milavia.net/aircraft/f-16/f-16_specs.htm http://www.milavia.net/aircraft/fc-1/fc-1_specs.htm
- JF 17 is a carbon copy of the F 16. They both are identical in capabilities.
- have you ever seen one outside Chinese territory for display? i think that answers your question. http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/world/china/fc-1.htm
- F-16 (latest versions) is probably better than the F-17/FC-1 because it is larger, has more hardpoints, and a better powerplant and thrust/weight and most of all, it's been proved in combat for 25 years. Although still, the JF-17 does have better turning rates at slower speeds and maybe some other advantages with maneuverability. JF-17 was developed by Pakistan and China to create an aircraft that was comparable to the F-16. In the 1980s, America sold F-16s to Pakistan, and immediately Pakistan fell in love with it when they used it to attack Afghan and Soviet targets that went into Pakistan....so they ordered many more, although soon afterwards, US placed sanctions on Pakistan, and all further orders for F-16s were scrapped, so Pakistan then needed to look elsewhere, and strengthened its relationship with China in the 1990s, which included building more military equipment.
