What is a unique gift for a baby boy who also happens to be our Godson?

Hi! My fiance and I have been asked to be godparents to my yet-to-be-born baby cousin. We know he a is a boy but we don't want to get him the traditional baby gifts like clothes, etc. Please don't suggest money or any religious items as we will get him something religious at his Baptism. Any suggestions that you may have are very much appreciated as we really want to buy him something special and a little different. Thanks so much!

1. Well if you were thinking really creative then you might think about getting him a murial painted in his nursery or get his hands and feet stamped in clay and made into a plaque or something similar. I hope this helps =D
2. This is going to sound pretty weird but I thought it was brilliant. My God Parents on my birth gave me a smoothed polished stone with my name on and my date of birth. I still have it to this day and even know the beech they got it from. Its so personal and loved all the more for that. Even if you are not the creative type you can get inscriptions/ small paintings done for you fairly cheaply. The main thing is it should be personal. Maybe a toy traditional car or interesting money box with his surname inscribed on it... maybe a painting of something with his name painted onto it. It doesn't have to have the wow factor... my stone is just a stone but I have treasured it for 30 years now!! xx

I have a ten week old boy at home who was very spoilt when he was born, but the gifts which I loved most of all were..... a blue glass plate and stand which had a picture of a little baby, his name, birth date, time of birth and weight on it. A picture frame with my baby's name and the meaning of his name under it and make your own baby foot print kit which came with picture frames and clay so you take a moulding and frame it with a picture of the baby as well. congrats on becoming godparents.....hope these ideas help!!! :)
