Painting a small bathroom - which two walls? Wife thinks opposite walls, I think adjacent. Any designers?

My though is you paint the walls you see right away (a blue/grey), then when you sit down you look at white walls, making the small bathroom seem a little larger. My wife thinks that sounds a little funny, and thinks we should alternate the grey and white. Any thoughts from designers out there? Thanks!
