Need your help with kitchen redecorating! :)?
I have an older, character home. Kitchen has high ceiling with tall, white cabinets which I like. I will replace the 80's chunky, light gray porcelain handles with stainless steel bar pulls (I like a modern look). Walls are light gray with chair rail. trim is a bit darker (like regular gray) and floor is gray and white marble design linoleum. Counter top is light gray. Back splash tile is light gray with the occasional wine coloured tile. I have a sharp looking black ceiling fan with halogen lights, a black topped stove, a funky black chair and some black small appliances. I will buy a black fridge when all the painting is done. Ok.. now the questions: 1. If I keep the walls light gray, should I go lighter or darker with the trim? White trim or a darker gray? Should I keep the walls pale gray? 2. I need suggestions for colors for the ceramic tile floor. 3. Suggestions for a new counter top if I have money leftover? Any other comments you'd like to make would be super appreciated!! Thanks!! dee

- well, i think that's a little too much gray. it seems kind of dreary. i think you should change the walls to a brighter, more lively color. and the floors should just be an ordinary color. if you make it too funky, it will draw more attention to the floor and people wont notice the walls :] maybe white tiles. as for a counter top, maybe a black speckled marble one. that would go nicely with the fridge and fan. hope i helped :]
- I think I you have a great color scheme going. I'd keep it as you have it, just add a pop of color like maybe a little red to the walls through art.
- 1.... go white... 2...no ceramic, go slate 3... dark grey here's where the pop comes... go aqua for an accent color!....
- Okay, I think a light grey can be a nice color choice, but maybe you could lighten it up just a bit. You could still keep the grey, but maybe trim it in white or antique white. For the ceramic tile floor, maybe you could just go for a nice clean white or a soft tanish look. Anything neutral that will brighten your kitchen and tie back to the other colors. And for the countertop, I think a black and white marble-y looking pattern would be nice. Not too much black but still enough. Or, if you don't like that, a light smoke or heather grey to contrast would be nice. And remember, after your kitchen is all done you can still accent it with different colors, too. Maybe red bowls and clocks, and such. Or a rich wine color. Good luck. I hope I could help. :) Oh, and I normally don't do this, but if anyone could answer my question I would really appreciate it: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AkAb5VSDSyX 7AT.VPkNQqlTsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20091221102456AAB7pVj Don't know if that's going to work, but I tryed... :\
