Why do some stalls in women's bathrooms in England have just a hole in the floor?

I'm an American female tourist in England. In some modern women's bathrooms ("loos"), there are several stalls with standard sit-down toilets but one stall has a simple hole in the floor. It looks like it was designed that way -- the toilet fixture wasn't stolen, for example. Why the hole in the floor?

1. Probably for Muslims. They like to squat when they use the bathroom.
2. The hole in the floor is for tampons, and soiled kotexes, as well as for stomach sickness.

In public rest rooms or in peoples house's.,Unless you were at a international hotel, or in Hong Kong and the highly European and British tourist occupied sections of these countries. 5. These are Asian style toilets. The sit-down kind are used in Europe and the Americas; the rest of the world squats. Sometimes there are places to put your feet on either side. I have not seen these in the UK myself, but I should think there are enough people there from Asia now to warrant them.
