Why is my costco memory foam mattress so hard?

I purchased a sleep innovations novaform memory foam mattress at a costco store. I read the reviews both before and after I purchased it and no one else complains that the mattress is too hard. I never had sore hips and shoulders with my old mattress. Now I toss and turn to find a comfortable position and wake up sore. My husband loves the mattress because it gives him more support than our innerspring mattress. I feel like the princess and the pea complaining about a mattress that everyone else loves.

1. Are you sleeping on it with many sheets on? (I don't know much)
2. I would check the temperature in your bedroom. Memory foam is susceptible to temp changes, so it's possible your topper is hard because the room is cold. Try adjusting the room temp a little and see if it helps. Test the mattress during the day when it's very warm and see if it makes a difference.
