- They are all very different areas of design - 1) Product Design - the design of items we use everyday, it's very vast really - designing furniture, appliances, phones, cars, could be anything even designing something like a cigarette lighter. http://a1.vox.com/6a00f48d098900000100fad698eb790004-500pi 2) Interior Design - deals with the look of spaces inside a building/house: designing a wall that divides a big room, creating special lighting effects. http://www.architecturesdesign.com/wp-content/uploads/architecture-design/2009/02/dellis-cay-villas-3.jpg 3) Graphic Design - designing images like posters, advertisments, websites.. maybe I should just say the word 'Photoshop' =) http://th08.deviantart.com/fs16/300W/i/2007/184/6/6/Rock_Genesis_Poster_Design_by_yienkeat.jpg To answer the rest of your question, Hotel Management has liitle to do with either 3 professions - that focuses more on tourism and taking care of a hotel - getting a hotel up & running, fixing up rooms for guests, arranging food & other services. Engineering has something to do with Product & Interior design, but they should incorporate the necessary skills into your course though so you won't need to graduate as an engineer to build a room or a chair =)
- Here's the deal. Product Design Engineer - A product design engineer creates 3d models and builds things and solves complex design issues. They are generally very handy and intelligent people who love what they do. They get paid the most money out of all three professions! Generally speaking. Interior Designer - An interior designer designs spaces by painting surfaces, updating furniture, changing curtains, accents, plants, decor, etc. So basically you decorate people's houses but there's a lot more work to it than it sounds. In a decent size city, they generally make a median-lower income. Graphic Designer - A graphic designer designs everything around you. All advertisements and even the web page that you are viewing now was designed by a graphic/web designer. Works include: Posters, Logos, Stationery, Vehicle Graphics, Magazine Ads, Flyers, Web Pages, Billboard Ads, Environmental Graphics, T-Shirts, Wayward Design, etc. Designers make on average about $30,000 a year. If you are a senior designer working with the right company you could make $60-75K, but you must be VERY good.
