Advice on bedroom - Anyone into interior design? :)?

I've recently had all the wallpaper in my bedroom stripped. Soon I will either have to put new wallpaper up, paint or both. I would appreciate help as I can't afford to make a mistake. I've no experience with interior design so advice and suggestions would be good if anyone experienced or with good taste could help me out please? I can supply pictures of the room, etc. :) I have a double bed in my room with black leather boards. The floors are light wood. I have a preference for pinks and reds personally and my old room was dark raspberry pink completely, it began to give me a head ache though. The faint idea I have in my head right now is: http://www.wallpaperdirect.co.uk/products/crown/organza-iris/51856 OR http://www.wallpaperdirect.co.uk/products/vymura/tiger-lily/66348 ... on two segments of the wall. My room has a sort of chimney style where the middle of one wall comes out a bit. I thought one of those wallpapers on either side of the chimney part, and then the rest of the room painted classic red. This has all been imagined in my head so it might be a ridicious idea. This is where I need your help please. Opinions on my idea or whole new different ideas of your own. Room planners online are not accurate enough and I would love a person's open as I've said. Please help. :) Thank you Contact: E-mail me @ tripmywire1993@live.co.uk Add me on facebook: Sabrina Sarder Sp mistakes:Ridiculous* Opinion*

  1. Not really into interior design, but if you're interested my bedroom is all stripes, Black, red, grey white and yekkow diagonal stripes, dark grey carpet, Makes me go cross eyed, but who cares, it's for going to sleep in
  2. I think the wallpaper you picked is ok but don't really like the colour. i really like black and white wallpaper like with a flowered pattern on it just on one of the walls and then your bed on the same wall with your wardrobes facing. pain the rest of the walls cream, then most things like your lampshade, curtains and bed covers have them black white and silver. : )
  3. Check your email.
  4. Instead of those wall papers, just paint the room walls red. It's much less busy. Then find rugs with red and lights that have some red in them. You can match it with a light yellow. Another great idea would be to paint a deep yellow and get a red comforter. Here are some examples.http://www.garnethill.com/jump.jsp?itemID=16764&itemType=PRODUCT&path=1%2C2%2C5%2C9019%2C9036&iProductID=16764 http://www.garnethill.com/jump.jsp?itemID=19223&itemType=PRODUCT&path=1%2C2%2C5%2C9019%2C9036&iProductID=19223 Look at this. The bedding stands out and the wall paper is very soft in the backround.http://www3.jcpenney.com/jcp/X6E.aspx?DeptID=59474&CatID=59514&GrpTyp=ENS&ItemID=171cfa8&attrtype=&attrvalue=&CMID=59474%7c59483&Fltr=COL%3aEquals%3ared&Srt=&QL=F&IND=6&cmVirtualCat=&CmCatId=59474|59483|59514 http://www3.jcpenney.com/jcp/X6E.aspx?DeptID=59474&CatID=59514&GrpTyp=ENS&ItemID=15d4500&attrtype=&attrvalue=&CMID=59474%7c59483%7c59514&Fltr=&Srt=&QL=F&IND=41&cmVirtualCat=&CmCatId=59474|59483|59514 I hope i gave you some ideas. the problem with your wall paper is that it jumps out at you. Keep it more delicate. Have fun. Have fun.
