What is the best place in USA to see slums , soup kitchens and bread lines?

A friend of mine is an Argentine journalist and he will arrive to USA soon.He needs images of dare poverty for his newspaper. He brings some meat as a charity collected at his son´s school , they know that many US kids are starving.

11. I would tell him to go check out Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, Ga. Homelessness is crazy in Atlanta.
12. In the older area of downtown, in almost any major US city. The key word is MISSION Ask someone where the mission is. Thats where you'll find skid row. Skid row is the term used when people lives skids to a dead end with no food money or shelter. Generally, due to addiction to alcohol or drugs. Now with the bad economy, its the every day man in some cities.
13. Chicago and DC are the only cities with noticeable slums that I know of. There is a Salvation Army in the middle of LA that serves prostitutes and drug addicts. Liberals love poor people. They concentrate them in areas far from where the liberals live so that they can point to them and say "see how horrible the US is?" but make sure that the poor do not lower the value of the lib's neighborhoods.
