Could a graphic designer afford a nice house in California?

Located in places like Palm Beach, San Diego, or Los Angeles. Nice house would be at least 3 bed rooms, at least 2 bathrooms. Modern, very nice neighborhood. Do you think they could?

2. Depends if you`re very good. :) and if you try very hard and who you work for.
3. depends on your income, on how secure your job is and how long you've been there, your credit, if you've paid your bills timely, and if you have 20% down, and if after paying for everything you normally owe plus paying for the house (PITI) then you'd have money left over for maintenance, and for flood and fire insurance. How much does a house like that cost in either of those places?
