What were specific innovations by the Beatles?
I need to know more than how they just revolutionized music. I'm looking for specifics.

- Some innovations on their album "Revolver" 1. The extensive use of backwards instruments. That was the first time instruments were ever reversed on record. 2. "Tomorrow Never Knows", the final song on Revolver, introduced the masses to the "one chord song". It also heavily influenced electronic music by it's drum beat, sound effects, etc 3. ADT or "Automatic Double Tracking". Double tracking is the process where one instrument is double by another to create an ethereal, larger sound. Before ADT one had to record the part over itself, but with ADT that wasn't necessary. Some innovations on Sgt Peppers 1. "A Day in the Life" on that album was probably the first notable example of a song without a clear structure. It really threw away the notion that a song had to have a verse, chorus, bridge, etc. 2. It was the first successful concept album. The theme that they were Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band and they sung songs "in character" was a revolutionary idea. If it hadn't happened Bowie's Ziggy Stardust wouldn't of been possible. 3. The weird vocal loop at the end of a Day in the Life was very influential White Album 1. It created the idea that a band could play several different styles of music, no matter what it was... Among others, of course (they became the first studio group after they quit touring in 1966, they were the first group to really write all of their own material, etc)
- here are a couple of links for you to read so that you can understand the specifics:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Beatles%27_influence_on_popular_culture http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Beatles%27_recording_technology also the beatles were the 1st to record their music either overly fast or overly slow because they knew the results would have different textures when played back at normal speed, here are just 2 examples of this being put into practice:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rain_(The_Beatles_song) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/In_My_Life also something else that the beatles did that they were never given proper credit for was making english the universal language of rock and roll.before the beatles, artists would make foreign language versions of their hit singles, when the beatles came along that practice basically stopped.in fact artists as diverse as the scorpions, celine dion, marc anthony, ricky martin, among a few weren't considered to have made it until they made a record in english.klaus meine, the lead singer of the scorpions, actually said "we knew that if we wanted to make it big and i mean really big, that we would have to record something in english."also the beatles were actually the ones who made it fashionable for men to have long hair in the 60's.also the beatles were the ones who were responsible for folk rock,by inspiring dylan to plug in.well i hope this answers your question.
- on the 1st song of beatles 65 you can hear the first guitar Feedback" ever recorded
- You can find what you want here. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Beatles%27_recording_technology Here´s some information: - They made feedback popular with their song I feel fine (John used a Gibson semi acoustic guitar) - Norwegian Wood would be the first or one of the first pop songs that includes a sitar. - Paperback Writer features a speaker used as a microphone near Rickenbacker bass guitar. - Tomorrow Never Knows features tape loops, John´s voice through a Leslie speaker and more. - During the recording of Revolver (1966), one of the engineers invented the ADT in order to double track their voices. Microphones were placed closer to acoustic instruments. Music samples and backward tapes were used. - They were one of the first bands who used direct injection. The instruments were plugged to the console during the recording of Sgt Pepper's. They synchronized tape machines to add tracks.
